| This site is
dedicated to the support of users of fieldbus technology. The support
of fieldbuses is spread over several groups at CERN:
- The IT-CO-FE section provides on the one hand a first line support
to the research sector for Profibus, WorldFip and Industrial Ethernet
and on the other hand CERN wide support for CAN.
- A CERN wide support for Profibus and WorldFIP is offered by
LHC-IAS.
The section is helping users in particular in the area of choosing
a fieldbus, configuration and integration issues and general problems
resolution.
The section can make some tools available to help to diagnose these
fielbuses.
A permanent Show Case is available in the IT-CO-FE laboratory demonstrating
the use of fieldbuses components (nodes, bus couplers, PC cards).
CERN fieldbus users are welcome to get hands on experience in the
same laboratory.
